Berks establishments among the latest cited for liquor violations

Two Berks establishments are among the latest batch of businesses in the region to be cited by state police on liquor code violations.

According to troopers:

• Cushion Peak Rod & Gun Club, 180 Vinemont Road, South Heidelberg Township, failed to submit annual reports to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, sold alcohol to nonmembers, failed to maintain records in conformity to liquor code, and possessed or operated gambling devices or permitted gambling, lotteries, pool selling or bookmaking on the premises.

That investigation ran from January through May

• Gamma Management Group Inc. or Legends Rodeway Inn, 2545 Fifth Street Highway, Muhlenberg Township, sold alcohol to a total of 21 underage people.

That violation occurred May 5.

Berks businesses were by no means alone in being cited.

There were numerous other establishments across the region, which also includes Lehigh, Schuylkill, Montgomery and Northampton counties.
