Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Garden at The Commons

Celebrate the summer by drinking a chilled flute of champagne while watching global superstars hit the centre court.

The Australian Open has long been a fixture of Australian summers. Whether it’s the sound of matches drifting from the television through the house as we stay up late on a hot night to watch the finals action, or getting into the grounds themselves and soaking up the party atmosphere, the event has become a signature presence in Melburnians lives.

From January 14 to January 30, including Australia Day, you can enjoy the on-court action while sitting pretty in an inner-city oasis. Pop by The Commons to experience the Champagne Garden by Piper-Heidsieck, an excellent way to watch the Australian Open in a more glamorous setting than your living room.

At the pop-up you’ll find outdoor screens (so you won’t miss a single serve), Piper-Heidsieck’s Champagne and plenty of snacks to match. Expect freshly shucked oysters on the weekends and even ‘Piper Potato Gems’ paired with a glass of Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut. Live entertainment will be provided by local performers (and artists known as the “Piper Uncorked Crew”) throughout the Australian Open and you’ll be able to capture the moment with Piper-themed Polaroids.
