Beer, wine and music festival planned in New Waterford | News, Sports, Jobs

NEW WATERFORD — Mayor Shane Patrone and Village Administrator Jason Gorby met with volunteers Tuesday and held the last meeting regarding plans for the first annual beer, wine and music festival.

New Waterford Beer, Wine and Music Festival will be held between 4 and 11 p.m Oct. 8 and between noon and 11 p.m. Oct. 9.

The festival will be held at 3760 Village Park Drive.

Admission to the festival is free of charge. Participants can purchase three sample tickets for $10 and four drink tickets for $20.

“Five bucks for a glass of wine and $5 for a glass of beer, essentially is what it boils down to,” Gorby said.

Gorby explained samples are going to be generous.

“It’s not going to be a thimble size. You’re going to get an ounce, ounce and a half,” he said. “You’re getting a good amount to drink.”

Patrone said there are 40 gift baskets among other prizes to be raffled off.

Wineries and breweries sceduled to be present include McKim’s Honeyvine, Candella Distillery, Aeonian Brewing Co., Fat Heads Brewery, Birdfish Brewing Co., Urban Artifact, Mastropietro Winery and L’uva Bella Winery.

Several food trucks will attend including Joe Risi Pizza, Chucks Best Gyro’s, Some Like it Hot, Ziggy’s and Honey Bee Waffle.

Three entertainers will perform Oct. 8 including The Conkle Brother and The Dude’s. Five entertainers are scheduled to play Oct. 9.

All proceeds will go toward new playground equipment for the village park.

Parking will be available at the town square and near the ball fields at the Methodist Church. Other locations around town will also be marked for parking.

No single tickets will be sold. Officials are considering using mobile technology to monitor raffle registration and payments.
