NW plans wine and beer festival | News, Sports, Jobs

NEW WATERFORD–The Village of New Waterford announced a wine and beer festival will be held from 4 until 11 p.m. Oct. 8, and noon until 11 p.m. Oct. 9. The New Waterford Beer and Wine Festival aims to raise funds to improve the village park.

“The goal is to get new playground equipment,” Village Administrator Jason Gorby said.

Village members have six wineries and three breweries arranged. Cleveland-based Fat Heads Brewery is scheduled to attend the wine and beer festival. The event will also feature food trucks and bands. The Conkle Brothers, Cold Shot and Barstool Mountain are among the bands lined up.

There will be no charge at the gate; funds will be raised from wine and beer purchases. Gorby is attempting to recruit more wineries and breweries along with another band.

“Bring your merchandise, sell your hats. Sell your T-shirts, all of that stuff. Talk about your beer and we are going to stand beside you and pour it,” Gorby said.

New Waterford Village wants to thank NDC Heating and Cooling for a $5,000 contribution toward the stage.

“They were the first local business to step up and jump to a platinum package to get it up there,” Gorby said.

A production company will have the stage wired for sound and furnished with speakers.

New Waterford Village is in the planning stage of the New Waterford Beer and Wine Festival and searching for additional sponsors. Anyone interested in contributing can reach the community building at 330-457-2225 or Village Administrator Jason Gorby at 330-457-2844.
