Thousands pack Lake Michigan beach for Burning Foot Beer Festival 2021

MUSKEGON– People danced in the sand as they sampled beer from breweries from around Lake Michigan at the Burning Foot Beer Festival.

This was the sixth year for the beach bash, last year’s festival was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Thousands packed the makeshift festival grounds on the beach of Pere Marquette Park on Saturday, Aug. 28. People stayed cool as they waded in the waters of Lake Michigan as the heat index hit the mid-90s in Muskegon.

Festival attendees had the opportunity to taste beer from more than 80 breweries. A majority of the breweries were from Michigan, but a handful of breweries from Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois also were on hand.

Live music was performed throughout the day on two stages with a mainstage lineup consisting of Eve 6, Remo Drive, Mustard Plug, Flexadecibel and Melophbix.

Food vendors included Hamburger Mikey, Rad Dads’ Taco & Tequila Bar, Bone Ends, Hank’s Tavern, Abeshi Ghanaian Cuisine and Fatty Lumpkins Sandwich Shack.

Attendees also had the opportunity to camp overnight on the beach for an additional cost.
