The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Clubs plans to revive the Afternoon Tea on Saturday, Sept. 25. The tea will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Chippewa Club in Iron Mountain. Can anyone name these ladies having tea at the Dickinson Hotel in 1964? Those who bring the photo and names to the tea will receive a special gift.

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Clubs is reviving the tradition of the Afternoon Tea, planned for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Chippewa Club in Iron Mountain.

Hats and gloves are optional. Ladies are encouraged to go into their closets and starting hunting for the appropriate tea attire.

Entertainment will be provided by Alice Smith as the Duchess of Dickinson. She will relate why tea was so important in England and how it became a tradition in the United States. Tea cakes will be designed by Chef Simone.

The event also will have a fall fashions presentation by Lydia’s by Crock and Rocker boutique.

Tickets are $25 and available at Lydia’s Boutique in Iron Mountain and at the club’s Sept. 3 meeting at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain. Tickets are limited, so everyone is encouraged to get them as soon as possible. Deadline is Friday, Sept. 10.

Proceeds will go to needs in the community.
