Joseph Beer Obituary (2022) – Kittanning, PA

Joseph Edward Beer Sr., 81, of Shelocta, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022, at ACMH Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1941, in Kittanning, to the late Zelma and John Beer.

Joseph lived his whole life in Armstrong County, and was a retired truck driver and machine operator. He was a member of the Mount Union Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, spending time with his family and playing guitar and music.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph E. Beer, Jr., of Elderton; daughter, Valerie (Jack) McClafferty, of Adrian; daughter, Tammy (Gary) Shaffer, of Adrian; daughter, Sandra (Ron) Smith, of Kittanning; granddaughter, Kelly (Scott) Martin, of McGrann; grandson, Kenneth (Rita) Shaffer, of Rural Valley; grandson, Tyler McClafferty, of Adrian; granddaughter, Christina (Derek) Jack, of Adrian; grandson, Gary Shaffer, Jr., of Adrian; grandson, Kevin Smith, Jr., of Kittanning; and grandson, Dustin (Sabrina) Smith, of Adrian; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian Beer; granddaughter, Tabatha Shaffer; brothers: Larry Beer and Wayne Beer; and sisters: Patsy Ellenberger and Kay Rosenberger.

Services were private and under the care of the Snyder Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
