Mtn. View Art & Wine Festival returns with ‘Pint-Sized’ gathering Sept. 11 | Community

The Mountain View Art & Wine Festival is scheduled to return as a scaled-back event 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 11 in the Caltrain parking lot at 650 W. Evelyn Ave.

The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce is calling this year’s festivities the Art & Wine Festival: Pint-Sized Edition. In response to the pandemic, the single-day celebration will aim to retain the most popular features of the festival in a more controlled space. Previous events have spanned weekends along Castro Street.

“We are so excited to have the chamber bring back the fun and vibrancy of such a fabulous and long-standing tradition,” said Mountain View Mayor Ellen Kamei. “We are grateful the chamber found a way to make everyone feel welcome and safe at the upcoming Art & Wine Festival, while ensuring sensitivity to the ongoing health situation.”

While the event is smaller than in years past, it will include 140 professional artists and artisans selling their handcrafted wares, live music, food vendors and wine, seasonal craft beer, hard seltzer and sangria. A kids’ area will feature a bungee jump, face painting and other family-friendly activities.

Festival admission is free; voluntary donations will support the chamber’s activities. Capacity is limited, so advance registration is advised. Attendees will be admitted at the door as capacity allows.

In keeping with the most recent health guidelines, it is recommended that attendees be fully vaccinated. If not fully vaccinated, guidelines recommend that attendees obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to the event and wear a face mask while at the festival.
