A new experience onboard the popular Napa Valley Wine Train: high tea! The new adventure kicks off in April and runs every weekend until the end of May.
High Tea Train
We’re happy to find the high tea train travels the same route as the iconic wine train. The ride is 36 miles round trip, which lasts about 3 hours. We check-in at the depot in downtown Napa starting at 10:30 a.m., depart at 11:30 a.m., travel to St. Helena, before turning around and coming back.
As we travel outside of Napa and start to see beautiful vineyards, we get to taste a glass of sparkling wine paired with a cheese plate. Then, we choose from a wide assortment of teas that’s wheeled through the train via cart. Up next, a small soup and salad, then a tiered plate of finger sandwiches that is synonymous with high tea. Scones, fruit, and mini desserts round out the high tea service.
How To Ride The Train
The high tea train ride is open to anyone 10 years old and up. (Note: children will receive a glass of cider instead of champagne at the beginning of the trip). Tickets start at $165 per person. Or you can upgrade your experience to include caviar, chips, creme fraiche, among other treats, for $135 per two-top table. Wine by the glass and wine flights are available to purchase onboard, as well as a selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
